Yusnalia Kadir, a master's student in Mathematics Education at UNY, achieves success as DIY Hijabfluencer Princess 2025

The Master's Program in Mathematics Education at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Yogyakarta State University (FMIPA UNY), has once again demonstrated its prominence through the outstanding achievement of one of its students, Yusnalia Kadir. In the prestigious Putri Hijabfluencer Regional Competition of Yogyakarta Special Region 2025, Yusnalia emerged as the grand winner. This competition does not merely evaluate outward appearance but places greater emphasis on positive influence, intellectual intelligence, and the ability to build an inspiring image through social media for hijab-wearing women.

Through rigorous selection stages such as knowledge tests, public speaking skills, and inspiring digital content, Yusnalia consistently impressed the judges. Her polite communication style, fresh educational ideas, and steadfast commitment to promoting Islamic values and women's empowerment were key to her success. This victory demonstrates that students from the Master's Program in Mathematics Education are not only academically outstanding but also actively building positive social influence in public spaces.

In her statement after the crowning, Yusnalia emphasized that this event is more than just a beauty pageant. “This is not just a beauty pageant, but also about voicing values, sharing inspiration, and being a representation of active, creative, and intelligent hijabers,” she said. This attitude reflects the character of FMIPA UNY students who are visionary, resilient, and integrity-driven.

This proud achievement was warmly welcomed by faculty members and the academic community of FMIPA UNY. They noted that Yusnalia’s accomplishments align with the institution’s spirit of encouraging students to develop holistically: excelling academically while remaining adaptable in social, cultural, and leadership dynamics. The Master's Program in Mathematics Education demonstrates its commitment to producing graduates who are not only proficient in theory and research but also make a positive impact on society.

As the winner of the DIY Hijabfluencer 2025 competition, Yusnalia will advance to the national level representing Yogyakarta later this year. She will also participate in various social activities and digital campaigns focused on women's empowerment and Islamic education. This achievement demonstrates that the hijab is not a barrier but a strong identity for spreading positive impact. Yusnalia's presence serves as an inspiration that Master's Program in Mathematics Education students can become visionary agents of change, both in academic and social spheres. (HnR/Witono)
