The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Yogyakarta State University (UNY) held the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) on Thursday, February 6, 2025. This event aims to provide academic insights and introduce the campus environment to new students in all Study Programs in FMIPA UNY, both at the master and doctoral levels, including the Master of Mathematics Education Study Program. This activity is carried out hybrid, offline at the FMIPA UNY Building and online through Zoom meetings for new students who cannot attend.

PKKMB FMIPA UNY, this time, carries the theme "Stepping Towards Advanced Civilization: Welcoming the Arrival of Young Scientists with Intelligence and Integrity.” The event was designed to equip students with academic insights and character values needed to face the development of science and technology. Since morning, the atmosphere of FMIPA UNY Building was filled with the spirit and enthusiasm of the new students who came full of hope to start their academic journey at the master's and doctoral levels. This activity was attended by faculty leaders, lecturers, and new students from various study programs. In a special session for the Master of Mathematics Education Study Program, new students received a more in-depth introduction to the curriculum, lecture system, and research opportunities in mathematics education. The Coordinator of the Master of Mathematics Education Study Program, Prof. Dr. Agus Maman Abadi, M.Si., in his speech, expressed his hope that new students can develop critical and innovative thinking skills in the field of mathematics education. The new students were also allowed to discuss directly with the Coordinator of the Master of Mathematics Education Study Program, Prof. Dr. Agus Maman Abadi, M.Si., the challenges and learning strategies at the master's level.

At the end of the event, the new students left the FMIPA Building with a new spirit, ready to face the academic challenges that await them. With the implementation of this PKKMB, it is hoped that new students of Master of Mathematics Education can be better prepared to face the academic world and actively contribute to the research and development of mathematics education in Indonesia.          

PKKMB is not just an introduction to the campus agenda but also the beginning of their long journey in building competence, character, and integrity as young scientists ready to move towards a more advanced civilization.Welcome to UNY, new students of Master of Mathematics Education!Let's achieve achievements together and develop the science of mathematics education for a better future.
