UNY Master and Doctoral Study Program Holds Guest Lecture Activities with the Theme of Mathematical Modeling Knowledge

On Friday, March 15, 2024, the UNY Mathematics Education Master and Doctoral Study Program held a Guest Lecture activity. This time, the guest speaker was Takasu Fugo, Ph.D., a lecturer from Women's University, Japan. The event took place in Conference Room 2 FMIPA UNY and was attended by 52 participants consisting of lecturers, master students, and doctoral students of Mathematics Education UNY. The topic discussed was “Mathematical Modeling Knowledge”. The material includes An Introduction to Mathematical Analysis in Biology with sub-topics Mathematical Modeling of Population Dynamics and Application of Dynamical Systems to Biological Phenomena. Takasu Fugo, Ph.D., is a mathematician who specializes in the application of mathematics, especially by using current technology.

Prof. Dr. Drs. Sugiman, M.Si, as Coordinator of the Study Program Doctoral Mathematics Education UNY, also attended this activity. He explained that master and doctoral students of mathematics education UNY still have to study pure mathematics to understand the direction of their learning when teaching mathematics to students. Through this activity, it is hoped that it can improve the academic climate of students to be more aware and understand the essence of mathematics more deeply.
