Smart Tips Choose References: Provision for Finding Latest References and Research Trends for Master and Doctoral Students of Mathematics Education UNY

In the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 as it is today, sources of information and knowledge are very easy to obtain from various sources, especially those that can be accessed through the internet network. With so much information available, it requires the ability or tools that can provide efficiency in finding the information needed so as not to spend too much time. This also applies to finding research references during lectures, as a means of doing assignments, writing articles or completing final assignments. This is what underlies the mathematics education master and doctoral study programs at Yogyakarta State University at the beginning of the lecture semester, by holding a Smart Tips Choose Reference Webinar event. This Webinar event was attended by all new master and doctoral students of mathematics education at Yogyakarta State University, February intake for the 2022/2023 entry year. There were 2 (two) resource persons who accompanied the new students during the event, Shaheb Alkiram and Hadi Nur Rahman. The event began with the opening by the Chairperson of the Committee and remarks delivered by Koorprodi Master and Doctoral Program in Mathematics Education, Prof. Sugiman, M.Si. Furthermore, the event continued with a presentation from the two speakers and questions and answers until the event was over. The material presented included the utilization of various UNY services (such as Scopus subscription and other sources), introduction to Mendeley as reference management software, as well as the latest tips and tricks for finding article references and research trends using various tools, such as Publish or Perish, Elicit and Bibliometrix. At the end of the event, the resource person said that hopefully the material presented could facilitate students in finding references and could support lecture activities, so they could graduate on time.
