The implementation of questions that require a high level of reasoning or “high order thinking skills” or HOTS in the 2018 UN is one of the Ministry of Education and Culture's steps forward in improving the quality of education in Indonesia. This will be the standard for UN implementation until 2025. Thus, teachers must have the right learning strategy to meet these demands. On February 13, 2019 at MAN 3 Yogyakarta, Dr. Sugiman, M.Si. (Head of Mathematics Education Master Program UNY) became a resource person and also part of PPM (Community Service) activities in the Mathematics Teacher Consultation (MGMP) event at the Madrasah Aliyah (MA) level throughout Yogyakarta. The event was attended by around 67 MA mathematics teachers, both public and private. He explained the material about “Learning Mathematics to Train HOTS”. In his presentation, he also explained how strategies to teach HOTS to students. (HS)
