Jogonalan, August 2, 2025 - In an effort to improve the quality of interactive learning at the junior high school level, the Gondang Winangun Klaten Mathematics MGMP organized Nearpod Training in Junior High School Mathematics Learning at SMP Negeri 1 Jogonalan, Klaten. This activity presented a team of resource persons from the Department of Mathematics Education FMIPA Yogyakarta State University (UNY) and directly involved teachers and prospective mathematics educators. The training, which took place on Saturday, focused on utilizing Nearpod-an interactive digital learning platform-to support students' active engagement in mathematics classes. Participants received technical knowledge and hands-on practice on the preparation of materials, the implementation of interactive quizzes, and the use of real-time learning outcome reports.

This activity presented expert speakers in the field of mathematics education, namely: Prof. Dr. Agus Maman Abadi, M.Si., Dr. Karyati, M.Si., Dr. Musthofa, M.Si., Lusi Harini, M.Si., & Dr. Muhammad Irfan, S.Si., M.Pd. The five speakers are the PkM team from the Department of Mathematics Education FMIPA UNY who are actively involved in developing educational technology literacy among teachers. This activity also involved students from the Department of Mathematics Education FMIPA UNY who accompanied participating teachers in direct practice of using Nearpod in the classroom. In his speech, Dr. Muhammad Irfan emphasized that “Digital transformation in education is not only a matter of technology, but also a matter of humanizing learning so that students feel more involved, active, and understand the material more contextually.”

With this training, it is hoped that mathematics teachers in Klaten can be more adaptive in integrating innovative educational technology to create interesting, fun, and meaningful learning.
