June seems to be a memorable time for three Mathematics Education Postgraduate students of Yogyakarta State University, Junianto, Elsa Susanti, and Bulan Nuri. Because they had the opportunity to hunt for experience in Kangaroo Country, Australia. The three of them, who are also LPDP awardees, successfully became presenters at the 2019 International Conference on Mathematics, Science and Technology Teaching and Learning (ICMSTTL 2019). This year's ICMSTTL is a scientific forum for researchers, lecturers, educators, students, education administrators and policy makers from around the world to discuss the latest theoretical, technological, pedagogical issues, innovations, trends, challenges, and possible solutions in teaching and learning mathematics, science and technology. Both for Jun, Elsa, and Bulan, the activity which lasted for three days, June 28-30, 2019, was not the first time they had participated in an international seminar. Unlike the international seminars they have participated in before, this international seminar took place not in their own country but at Central Queensland University, Sydney Campus, Australia. On this occasion, the three of them presented different articles. Junianto presented his research article entitled Comparison of Effectiveness Between Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) and Problem-Based Learning (PBL) on the Interest of Junior High School Students. While Elsa presented her article entitled Mathematical Critical Thinking and Creative Thinking Skills: How Does Their Relationship Influence Mathematical Achievement?, while Bulan reviewed an article entitled Self-Directed Learning of Students in Mathematics Education: Is There Any Problem? Based on the review results, these three articles are considered interesting and useful for readers involved in the development and research in the field of mathematics education. This activity is a golden opportunity for me to meet great people. Not only that, this activity is also a place for me to practice my English language skills directly. This is really an interesting experience that has successfully nurtured my hope to get the opportunity to study abroad for a longer period of time in the future,” said Jun. “..., this experience has also triggered me to continue learning especially in terms of researching, writing and how to communicate in English fluently and interactively. Through this activity, I really realized that English skills are a great asset to step foot in the international arena", added Elsa. Similarly, Bulan said that this activity raised current issues, especially in the fields of education and technology. The conference participants who came from various countries added to my experience, including in English language skills. I also felt that the participants also understood my ability to speak English considering that English is not an everyday language for Indonesians. These three final year students should be proud of themselves. The reason is, in this activity they are among the youngest participants, where other participants are Professors, lecturers, and several Doctoral candidates. Not only that, their three articles were also accepted in the Scopus-indexed ACM proceedings. The sweetness of overseas conferences is also felt by enjoying the beautiful city of Sydney, Australia.  After returning from Kangaroo Country, the three of them are determined to stick to the following wise words, “Dreaming is the first step that you have to do. While, an act is the next step. The action is the foundation of success. There's no limit of struggling. Do your best and pray. God will take care of the rest”. (sgm)
