Primary tabs
COVID-19 still cannot be seen when it ends, but that does not dampen the intention of new students of Postgraduate Mathematics Education to continue participating in PKKMB activities held from the University level to the Study Program. The activity took place from September 09 to 12, 2020, carried out online through the Zoom video conference application and UNY YouTube channel. The introduction is carried out optimally so that new students get important information about what must be prepared before following the lecture agenda.
As happened at the PKKMB level of the UNY Mathematics Education Postgraduate Study Program which was held on Saturday, September 12, 2020. Various activities have been prepared for new students. Starting with remarks from the Head of the Study Program, Mr. Sugiman gave directions on important tasks that students must do when studying later. He provided information from course credits, and article publications, to preparing thesis titles early on. He hopes that new students can prepare themselves to improve their competence while studying at the UNY Postgraduate Program.
After that, the sharing event and testimonials from alumni who were invited to share their experiences studying at UNY Postgraduate Mathematics Education, namely Mrs. Suripah from Riau Islamic University, Mr. Sumbaji from Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University Yogyakarta, and Mr. Syukrul Hamdi from Yogyakarta State University. The speakers shared tips and tricks on how to graduate on time and be able to have article publications that can later support students' careers when they graduate and enter the world of work. So that students can be motivated from the start to better prepare for the publication of their articles, which is one of the requirements to be graduated when graduating.
In the last activity, to facilitate students in writing articles later, there was a Mendeley training agenda presented by Mas Ibnu Rafi, a 2019 Mathematics Education Postgraduate Student. As we all know, Mendeley is software for processing article data and making it easier for users to cite articles used as references. With all the activities given to new students, it is hoped that they will be better prepared to face lectures and assignments given, even though these activities are not carried out face-to-face.
