UNY FMIPA Mathematics Education Lecturer Wins Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Research and Community Service Grant 2025

Yogyakarta – The Department of Mathematics Education at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Yogyakarta State University (UNY) has achieved a remarkable feat. Five lecturers from this department have successfully secured research and community service grants from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) for the year 2025. This achievement underscores FMIPA UNY’s strong commitment to enhancing research quality and making tangible contributions to society.

The faculty members who received grants from the Department of Mathematics Education are Prof. Dr. Ariyadi Wijaya, M.Sc. (PPS-PTM scheme); Prof. Dr. Heri Retnawati, M.Pd. (PPS-PDD and PS-PDD schemes); Prof. Dr. Marsigit, M.A. (PFR scheme); Prof. Dr. Sugiman, M.Si. (PPS-PDD scheme); and Dr. Syukrul Hamdi, M.Pd. (PFR scheme). The diversity of grant schemes received reflects the broad spectrum of research and community service undertaken by academics in this department, covering various strategic issues.

The grants received by the Mathematics Education faculty members will support various strategic themes, including the development of environmentally friendly technology, innovation in digital learning technology, and strengthening community capacity through scientific approaches. These themes align with the vision of FMIPA UNY to produce relevant research and have a positive impact on the advancement of science and the well-being of society.

The Dean of FMIPA UNY, Prof. Dr. Dadan Rosana, M.Si., expressed his pride in this achievement, emphasizing the faculty's dedication to fostering a strong and impactful research culture. It is hoped that these grants will yield high-quality research outcomes, such as reputable scientific publications, patents, and innovative, applicable products, while also strengthening the relationship between the university and the community, particularly in the Yogyakarta Special Region.
